Living with a chronic illness is something no-one prepares you for. It is like you have been taught to sail your whole life and then someone says "in order to keep with the tide you now have to cycle instead of sail". Except you're still on the water, your boat still has sails and you now have to figure out this new mechanism which isn't adapted to work in water...
